Mit dem SNOWKITE-PARK ERZGEBIRGE ist seit Sommer 2006 der erste Kite-Park /Snowkite-Park von Deutschland und der grösste von Europa in Betrieb. Im Winter wird der Park zum Snowkite-Park mit 1 qkm Fläche und ist mit 10 Rails, 5-10 Kicker, Walls, usw. ausgestattet. Direkt am Snowkite-Park liegen zwei je 10 qkm grosse Snowkite-Spots welche zu unbeschreiblichen Freeride-Touren locken. Mit Hügel und Hänge zum hinuntersegeln, unzähligen Wächten und Kicker zum springen sowie Flächen und Plateaus zum racen und cruisen. Über 30 weitere Snowkite-Spots sind in unmittelbarer Umgebung und einfach zu erreichen.

Location: There are over 300 islands set in crystal clear waters with palm fringed white sandy beaches, lagoons,coral reefs and idyllic places to stay - that’s Fiji. Tavewa is one of the small islands in the North of the Yasawa island group. The spot is directly in front of your accomodation. There are two acceptable choices, but don’t expect luxury.

Conditions: The beach gets a bit narrow while high tide but there is still enough room for rigging and launching. The spot is surrounded by reef, but there is enough room inside the reef and it’s easy to get out into the deep blue lagoon. The area inside the reef is shallow and ideal for beginners. Expect to be the only Kiteboarder up there - so bring somebody along - it’s still a hidden spot.

Wind: Best time is the tradewind season from around June to Septemer. Wind comes in from south east and gets channeld between two islands. With the strong winds you’ll have a bit of chop, but no real wave inside the reef, but you’ll find a reef break as well. Average winds are around 10 to 18 knots. Usually there are wind periods every 7 to 14 days lasting for about 8 days - then the wind picks up regularly to 18 to 25 knots.

Location:The Island lies about 15 minutes by boat of the main island in the north west. There are two main spots on the island - in the west of the island and on the south east end. The first spot is only safe at high tide when the beach gets very narrow. I prefer the south eastern spot in front of Nananu Island Lodge. The water gets deep right away and there is no coral out there.Conditions:The beach gets a bit narrow while high tide but there is still enough room for rigging and launching. There is reef on the left and the right side of the spot so stay out in the deep. It is necessary to ride upwind safely! Not a beginner spot.Wind:Best time is the tradewind season from around June to Septemer. Wind comes in from south east and is sometimes a bit gusty because it comes over the hills. With the strong winds you’ll have a bit of chop, but no real wave. It’s Extreme is running a week long festival of kiteboarding in Cairns.The aim of the week is to have fun, ride some great locations, run some events and party hard. The first part of the week is all about being social and riding new places. The competition then runs Thursday to Sunday.
